1. The title exploits an ambiguity in the word "we": it may refer to the speaker and the listener, or to the speaker and others. Is the reader included in the title's "We"?

2. Why does Sayyid admire Tom Boston? Why does he fear him?

3. Sayyid seems to be a student of American history and culture. Is it possible to study another culture objectively?

4. Why not simply kill Boston directly? What do murdered leaders tend to turn into?

5. Is Boston's willingness to take the drug consistent with his other actions? With the American character, as Sayyid sees it? Does it affect the reader's response to the ending?
