Katherine Haynes was born in Sumter, S.C., received a B.A. from Mercer University in Atlanta in 1980, and an M.T.S. from Emory University in 1990. She is currently a D.A. student in English at MTSU, serves as an adjunct in the English department, and is the Coordinator of Field Placement in the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences. An ephebe in Stevens' poetry, she nevertheless joins Ariel in being glad he had written the poems.
